Kim's is a neighborhood anchor. They're helpful and knowledgeable, and it's very rare that they don't have something when it comes to home repair projects. They make keys, cut glass and pieces of wood for small projects. If they don't have something in stock, they can usually order it for you and it's there within a week.

This Hardware store looks like it won't have what you need from the outside, but once you go in you will realize that it's a mini home depot. They have all you will need when it comes to tools, nuts/bolts, screws of all types, plumbing equipment and more. I went in looking for gate latch cord so I wouldn't lock myself in after I installed the latch on My garage door. Right when I walked in they helped me immediately. They knew exactly where their products are located in the store. They took me to the cords and wires they had and I spent less money than I thought I would!! Definitely will come here before going to the big chains for me DIY needs.

Very, Very, Very clean and pleasant environment. All staff are extremely courteous & professional...willing to go over and beyond normal expectations. They have a lot of stuff in stock. My only disappointment is their business hours, I wish they would stay open longer. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GOING THERE, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!! 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯

I love this store! The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. They are also patient in explaining things. I have bought wall clocks, wire caps, a wall plate, putty and sand paper there as well as a shower head. They make DIY repairs seem less daunting. It saves me from having to hire repair people. I will be back and highly recommend them.

Mr. Kim and John were able to help me figure out a solution to a very odd problem—how to fix a broken plastic knob from my cat’s litter box door. Had it fixed within fifteen minutes at very good pricing. Great service. Thank you!

While on a run around my neighborhood I saw a sign that said Kim’s can cut glass and plastic to size. Since my new home was missing shelving for two awkward sized cabinets, I thought I would give it a whirl so that the cabinets would be functional. I took my measurements to Kim’s and the guys there helped me decide the thickness of the glass to ensure it wouldn’t crack. The job was done incredibly fast and was shockingly affordable. I love my shelves! I’ll be using Kim’s for all of my hardware needs going forward, and I’m sure there will be many!

Always a good experience here and positive energy. Great prices, friendly and helpful employees. They seem like a family run place and the guy who looks like Johnny Bravo has helped me reset multiple locks. Highly recommended and always support your local business.

Stop giving your money to corporations or businesses owned by private equity. Especially when those corps and venture capitalists give their money to lobbyists and politicians who want to destroy communities and small businesses! Kim's Hardware has been my go-to place for all things home improvement since I moved to my apartment in 2018. They are so nice, so helpful everytime I come in. They have never made me feel stupid for asking questions. Today, I went in because I am finally tackling the draftiness of my windows. One of the employees immediately taught me everything about the spray foam and caulking the gaps in my windows. He patiently showed me how to use the caulking gun. I am so happy Rogers Park and Edgewater have this wonderful hardware store. Let's keep these neighborhoods thriving and support our neighbors' businesses.

Love love LOVE this place! The place looks deceptively small from the exterior but don't be fooled. Once you go inside, you'll see just how wide a variety of items they offer. Their prices are competitive and selection has always suited my needs. What really makes them stand out, though, is the customer service. When I go to Kim's to talk through a plumbing or hardware issue, I feel like I'm talking with my brother or my neighbor. Super casual and you can tell that they really do care about helping you figure out your issue. I'm super happy they're in my neighborhood!
